Maria graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in May 2017 with a major in Law & Society and a minor in Philosophy. Her course work included law and politics of immigration and International Law, which furthered her interest in the Immigration legal field. She was part of the pre-law society, a member of the Sigma Alpha Pi Honors Society, and frequently participated in John Jay’s pre-law boot camps. Maria also spent a summer abroad in Florence, Italy where she studied in an intensive language and culture program. Throughout her time in college she worked as a legal assistant in a general practice law firm in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn for three years. She later went on to interning at a foreclosure firm in Manhattan where she was quickly hired to work as a paralegal in the transactional department.
